Quinlan, Texas Author Featured in New Dog Book
Minneapolis, Minnesota, November 4, 2008
– Quinlan’s David Hartwig and his world famous Texas blue heeler, Skidboot,
were guests on Jay Leno, Oprah, David Letterman, Texas County Reporter, and
Animal Planet’s Pet Star contest, among others. Hartwig says, “There is an
amazing story behind how an abandoned puppy grew up to inspire millions of
people.” The journey Hartwig and Skidboot took as a team to entertain
the world is featured in a new book, Angel Dogs with a
Mission: Divine Messengers in Service to All Life by authors, Allen and
Linda Anderson (New World Library, October 1, 2008). The book is a collection
of twenty true stories about dogs who found their purpose in life and gave
without expecting a return.
Hartwig, a
horseshoer, cowboy, and entertainer is training more dogs in the tradition of
the amazing Skidboot and performs with his dogs to raise funds for animal
shelters. To view Skidboot’s performances or order DVDs and books about him
visit www.skidboot.com.
Allen
and Linda Anderson are founders of the Angel Animals Network
(www.angelanimals.net), inspirational speakers, clergy members, and authors of
the award-winning Rescued: Saving Animals from Disaster as well as nine
other books in the popular Angel Animals series. Marc Bekoff, PhD, professor
emeritus of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Colorado,
Boulder, wrote in the foreword for Angel Dogs with a Mission: “This book will
change your life and the lives of those with whom you share it.”
As
with the hugely popular Marley & Me, dog lovers will be inspired and
entertained by the dramatic human-and-dog journeys in this new book. The
amazing stories provide laughter, proof that miracles are possible, and tears
-- the good kind.
Amelia
Kinkade, author of Straight from the Horses Mouth, says, “This book is a
tribute to the fact that many of our most effective doctors, nurses,
therapists, police officers, emotional counselors, rescue workers, and
spiritual teachers have four legs instead of two.”
