Minneapolis Author Featured in New Dog Book
Minneapolis, Minnesota, November 4, 2008
– Minneapolis’s Rebecca Kragnes has honored the heroism of her Seeing Eye Dog Wynell, a
golden retriever, who sensed danger and saved her from being killed by an
oncoming car. Kragnes says, “After all Wynell did for me, I had to find a
gentle and caring way to retire my hero when the time was right.” The touching
journey of Kragnes and Wynell is featured in a new book, Angel Dogs
with a Mission: Divine Messengers in Service to All Life by authors, Allen
and Linda Anderson (New World Library, October 1, 2008). The book is a
collection of twenty true stories about dogs who found their purpose in life
and gave without expecting a return.
Kragnes
lives with her husband Phil with their Seeing Eye Dogs. Kragnes is a pianist and
composer who has recorded four CDs to date. Her third album Surrender was
inspired by her three Seeing Eye DogsÒ: Tanner, Shelly, and Wynell.
Kragnes is an active member of the American Council of the Blind of Minnesota
and Minnesota Guide Dog Users, Inc. She serves on the Qwest Consumer Advisory
Panel and the Minnesota State Rehabilitation Council for the Blind.
Allen
and Linda Anderson are founders of the Angel Animals Network
(www.angelanimals.net), inspirational speakers, clergy members, and authors of
the award-winning Rescued: Saving Animals from Disaster as well as nine
other books in the popular Angel Animals series.
Marc
Bekoff, PhD, professor emeritus of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University
of Colorado, Boulder, wrote in the foreword for Angel Dogs with a Mission:
“This book will change your life and the lives of those with whom you share
it.”
As
with the hugely popular Marley & Me, dog lovers will be inspired and
entertained by the dramatic human-and-dog journeys in this new book. The
amazing stories provide laughter, proof that miracles are possible, and tears
-- the good kind.
Amelia
Kinkade, author of Straight from the Horses Mouth, says, “This book is a
tribute to the fact that many of our most effective doctors, nurses,
therapists, police officers, emotional counselors, rescue workers, and
spiritual teachers have four legs instead of two.”
